Our reproduction is loosely inspired by the original helmets found in Vendel, Uppland, on the east coast of Sweden. Usually made of iron by the people of that era, these helmets share a strong resemblance to helmets of the late Roman period, portraying them as a form of transitional helmet between the late Roman period and the Viking period. Our reproduction is ideal for medieval or Viking warrior clothing at your next Viking reenactment, fair or LARP.
Sword of the Bronze Barbarians. History - legend - movies (Conan), etc. remind us of the tribes of Slavic, German and Frankish origin that ravaged Europe between the third and eighth centuries, coming to conquer Rome itself. Called to his uncivilized barbarian customs, this term became diabolical connotations for its rude and savage nature. The sword, bronze finished with corrugated sheets, represents a winged dragon with two heads.
Reproduction of a relief made of reconstituted marble (marble powder attached to chronolite). The patina of aging is applied with natural lands.
The original of the relief we reproduced is an ivory sculpture of the Archangel St. Michael, from the 6th century.

Late Medieval Poleyns, Knee Protection, 15th Century, 1.6 mm Steel, Pair
This fully articulated, wearable reconstruction of a plate armor for the knees, used in the late Middle Ages, is designed to protect the knee area from the lower thigh to the upper shin. It is made of 1.6 mm (16 gauge) steel and blackened on the inside for better corrosion resistance.
Leg armor consists of poleyns (kneecaps, also known as genouilleres), short gousses with braided ropes (including brass spikes), and short greaves. All parts are connected to each other by sliding plates or lames that are hinged into sturdy steel rivets, thus allowing adequate freedom of movement. The upper edge of the breastplates and the lower edge of the greaves are coiled, and the poleyns extend into distinctive fishtail-shaped wings on the outer sides.
On the back, three adjustable riveted leather straps approx. 3 mm thick and steel buckles allow for a comfortable and customised fit.
Equally suitable for medieval reenactment, LARP, stage, TV/film, or costume, these articulated knee guards are best suited for late medieval settings and ideal for completing the armour of a European warrior or knight.
The poleyns are sold as a pair.
