We recommend that you wear klappenrock with a belt as it closes in the same way as a current bathrobe. Please note that the belt is not included in the delivery and must be purchased separately.
Klappenrock (also known as a warrior's coat or coat) originates in the eurasian riding nomads (i.e., the Huns and the Avars) and found its way to the West during the migration period and the Middle Ages. The Vikings and Rus people adopted this specific type of coat and added decorative fabric trims to the piece. A Nordic klappenrock usually features front angled flaps that overlap diagonally and are held together with a belt.
Historical depictions of coatings can be found, for example, in the 7th-century Sutton Hoo and Valsgärde helmets. The klappenrock was usually combined with a tunic and baggy pants. The warrior motifs found in the surviving helmets suggest that it was not only used in everyday life, but also in battle.

Hungary, by virtue of its position on the world map, is a country that encompasses the cultural influence of both East and West. This influence is, of course, directly reflected in the Hungarian arms. The Hungarian sabre is primarily a cutting weapon, used mainly on horseback, although foot attack was not unknown.
The blade of the Hungarian sabre is made of 1055 high carbon steel with hard spring temperament. It has a hatchet tip that makes it wider at the tip or tip than at the guard. The saber guard has very wide and sturdy quillons. The wider quillons offer greater protection to the hand and forearm. Also because of its greater width, a skilled swordsman can receive a blow aimed at the hand, wrist or forearms with a small twist of the wrist, since the long quillons cover a lot of space and the minimal movement of the defender is all that is needed to block the path of an approaching blade.
The leather sheath is, in a word, beautiful. Its accessories are attractively arranged and provide a light and bright contrast with its black leather base.

Roman Buch-Podlodów type Spatha with sheath, 3rd century .C., sword decoration
This Roman Spatha is a reconstruction based on several third original c. examples found near Podlodów (present-day Poland) in the archaeological region of przeworsk culture. A few more Podlodów-type blades were also found along or near Limes, the border of the Roman Empire. It is assumed that most of these spatulas originated from Roman blacksmiths and had eventually found their way beyond the borders of the Empire to Barbaricum.
