With their distinctive cruciform protector and Brazil nut pommel, they are similar in weight and static balance and offer virtually identical handling characteristics. Both are harmonically balanced, optimizing the handling characteristics for the re-enactor in the case of this hard-hitting version.

The blade is forged in 5160 high carbon steel and marquenched to HRC 50-52, providing anti-burr safety. The grip is wooden and covered with leather on a drawstring coating.

This generously sized mug/tankard with handle is handmade from cattle horn, polished and adorned with an engraved valknut symbol framed by a rune sequence.


The valknut, a symbol consisting of three interconnected triangles, appears in a wide variety of archaeological finds attributed to the Germanic peoples. Although its true meaning remains a matter of speculation to date, some experts tend to believe that it may be associated with Odin, the Father of the Gods in Norse mythology. He has now found his place in modern culture, adorning many pieces of jewelry, talisman or decorative object, and is particularly popular among supporters of Heathenry, also known as Germanic neopaganism (e.g., followers of Asanatus).
