This dress or kirtle
Medieval long and waist is made of sturdy cotton fabric (canvas). The skirt is equipped with so-called gores (wedge-shaped/triangular pieces of fabric) that give it a generous enlargement, and the upper part features a front center loop in thick cotton for individual adjustment. The ends of the tie cord are equipped with metal tips that allow you to easily pass through the sewn eyelets. While we're aware that shoelaces require a lot more time than a zipper to get dressed in, we deliberately opted for a lace clasp to keep the look of the dress as authentic as possible.
The cut of this dress is based on medieval illustrations from the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries. Although women's clothing had been cut rather loosely and hiding the figure until then, this era saw the emergence of increasingly tight clothing. Or Cotehardie, which evolved from the loose French Cotte and roughly translates as bold cotte, probably owes its name to its bold and fair nature.
A typical kirtle or cotehardie usually featured loops or button clasp in the center of the front. The introduction of shoelaces and buttons as functional clasps (rather than purely ornamental items) was actually what made possible, in the first place, fashion tailored and adjusted to the body. Another distinctive feature of these dresses was the wide neckline, which seemed to get lower and lower with time and was particularly popular with women during the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The cotehardie used to be combined with a shirt or shirt, a veil and a narrow belt. The short-sleeved variant was also often used with removable and interchangeable pin-on sleeves.
Historical illustrations of the fifteenth century. kirtles can be found, among others, on the June calendar page of the Duke of Berry's Book of Hours, a French illuminated manuscript (original title: Les Très Riches Heures du Duc de Berry), or in the Book of Simple Medicines (Woman and Unicorn) illustrated by Robinet Testard.

Handmade in a small village nestled in the Longquan Mountains in China's Zhejiang province, where the tradition of making swords by hand began over 2000 years ago.
Each piece of this sword is created by experienced forgers using centuries-old methods. The blade is crafted with the "standard welded" system with a Rockwell hardness in the range of 40-45 HRC and about 35 HRC in the guard. The simulated ripple is masterfully applied by a craftsman. Each blade is sharp, and you need to be able to cut a sheet of paper before it leaves the factory.
The tsuba and the hilt are emblazoned with dragonflies. For the samurai, the dragonfly was a symbol of bravery, speed, and courage; It was believed to provide strength and protection to soldiers. Japan is also known as the Island of Dragonflies or Akitsushima (akitsu is the Japanese word for dragonfly and shima means island). The tsuba, the pommel, and the fuchi-kashira (the necklace next to the tsuba) are made of brass and have an aged finish. The grip is made of genuine lightning bolt leather wrapped in a drawstring.
The wooden sheath has an attractive flat finish in copper color speckled with an equally impressive black and tan cord.
