This floor-length medieval dress made of sturdy cotton fabric (canvas) is loose and comes with a matching fabric belt. Contrasting color details with hand-stitched fishbone embroidery dots make the dress really stand out from the crowd.

Medieval velvet Kirtle / Cotehardie Isabell, long sleeves, red
This medieval velvet or kirtle dress has a tight bodice and an in-line skirt. The skirt piece is equipped with so-called gores (triangular/wedge-shaped pieces of fabric) that provide a generous touch and oscillate very well as you walk.
Tabards were used by many knights to identify themselves as crusaders. The coat of arms on them (also called Surcoat or Surcot) appeared in the 12th century and was worn by the knights over their armor or mesh dimension on the battlefield. With the colors and the cross made it clear in the battle fight who was a friend and who was the enemy.
This calf-length tabarde for children is made entirely of strong cotton. It is cut straight and with lateral slit up to the waist. The front and back are also provided with a slightly shorter slit in the middle. The classic Johanniter cross is stamped on the chest.

Our reproduction is handmade in 16-gauge tempered steel, lined with a comfortable and secure leather lining and an aventail chain mail. An approximate circumference of 68 cm (without lining) allows it to fit in almost all head sizes (65 cm with lining). A leather strap and brass buckle clasp keep you safe in every battle. It has a height of about 25.5 cm and a base of (24.5×21) cm. It weighs about 4 kg and 52 grams.
Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can be easily cleaned with any degreasing product or even with a dry cloth.
