The appearance and cut of this tunic are based on an archaeological find dating from the 11th century. In the end, the package was composed of individual fragments that could be reassembled in a tunic. Only the back and sleeves have not been fully preserved, which leaves a little room for interpretation.

The tunic has a very elaborate and unique cut for the time. The upper part of the trunk (front and rear) consists of two layers and features a rectangular piece of material from which diagonal seams break. The neckline has two slits that close by means of ties. The sleeve head is cut straight and equipped with an additional reinforcement (piece of triangular fabric) in the armpit area. The sleeve consists of three pieces of panel and tapered towards the handle. The side seams are split, with the back reaching a few centimeters at the front and covering the top of the slits.

Our cotton tunic is a unique reconstruction of viborg's medieval tunic. We attach special importance to the correct positioning of the panel seams, the finishing details and the correct proportions. For aesthetic reasons, we slightly increased the overall length of the body and sleeves to have a Viking tunic with long sleeves and a hem that reaches the middle to the lower thigh.

The elaborate tunic we offer here is equally suitable as an outerwear piece or underwear. The 100% cotton fabric is quite sturdy and has two layers on the top of the trunk.

This tunic is the perfect garment for the Portrait of the Nordics. For an authentic look, we recommend that you combine it with a belt, winas (leg bandage) and Rus pants.

The houndskull (German: Hundsgugel), a variation of the late medieval bascinet, enjoyed great popularity among knights and warriors throughout Europe until about 1420. It owed its name to the characteristic design of its visor, which featured a "snout" protrusion that resembled the face of a dog (hound, or in German: Hund). Pig-faced bascinet is another term sometimes used to refer to this particular type of medieval helmet.

The helmet with visor that we offer here is based on original examples from the fourteenth century (ca. 1370 AD). It is manufactured from approx. Steel is 1.6 mm thick and is equipped with a fully removable, hinged face shield that is firmly fixed in position with pins and reinforced with riveted brass straps. This visor has two approx. Eye slits 9 cm long and 0.6 cm wide, as well as numerous round cutouts on the right side and two smaller slits at the height of the mouth for adequate ventilation.
The sides and lower edge of the helmet bowl are studded with so-called vervelles made of brass. These small protruding rivets with holes allow the addition of aventail or camail chainmail (not included in delivery).
The interior is blackened for better corrosion resistance and has an adjustable linen fabric lining that is attached to the edge of the bowl with sturdy dots.

This fully wearable knight's helmet is best suited for late medieval scenarios and ideal for completing the Armor of a European warrior. It will make your transformation into a proud knight seamless and makes a great decorative addition to any helmet collector's treasure chamber.
