Very good reconstruction of a marijuana helmet from the late medieval period (also called a bucket helmet or barrel helmet), as it was used in the fourteenth century.

The so-called large helmet (large helmet or large hood) used to be worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (e.g. a helmet). It was disseminated throughout Central Europe in the Middle Ages, and numerous contemporary images, miniatures and finds of Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, etc. prove the popularity of this type of helmet. These helmets appeared at the time of the Crusades in the late 12th/ early 13th century and were worn by the knights until the 14th century.

The replica offered here is made of 1.6 mm carbon steel (gauge 16) and has a cross-shaped brass application on the front. The individual parts of the rider helmet are all connected to each other by steel rivets. The viewing slots are approximately 15 cm long and 1.3 cm wide each and the various recesses in the lower half ensure the necessary air circulation.

The interior is blackened and supplied with a riveted and adjustable leather cover. The 2 mm thick brown leather chin strap is equipped with a brass buckle (with antique finish).
