This Gugel is made of sturdy canvas and has a very comfortable trim. The head part is wide and has front closure by mooring. It is modeled after high medieval examples.
The most distinctive feature shared by all types of gugels is that they have been tailor-made to cover the head and shoulders. The Vikings were the first proven known to wear this specific type of hood. In the High Middle Ages, it became an integral part of the daily clothing of the commoners and was worn by peasants, craftsmen, travelers and the like. The 14th century brought some changes in the design of the gugel, which became fairer and often adorned with ornate ornaments. But by the early 16th century, it had fallen out of fashion and was rarely used.
This sturdy medieval belt is made of thick, full-grain, vegetable-tanned buffalo leather. The surface and edges are polished and lightly coloured, giving the leather its characteristic worn look.

This belt can be used by both men and women. Whether you're a Viking, a pirate or simply for everyday wear, this belt adds a special touch to any outfit or outfit.

Beautiful medieval skirt of 100% cotton. The skirt has a waist with retracted black drawstring. Both ends of the cord are decorated with decorative wooden beads.

The Roman army sought a direct and pragmatic approach to warfare. The Gladius was chosen as the main weapon, as it is practical and efficient and excels in any hand-to-hand combat situation. With this sword they conquered most of the then known world. The original examples of this replica were excavated from the ruins of Pompeii. Examples can be found in the book "What The Soldiers Wore On Hadrian's Wall", by H. Russell Robinson.
The early Gladius, like this version based on the Maintz pattern, had a wasp-like waist and a long tip that combined slashing and stabbing capabilities into a useful weapon . This replica based on the Maintz pattern has a bone cuff with ornate brass applications on the hem. Made from high carbon steel by Windlass Steelcrafts and comes factory sharpened.
Includes matching wooden sheath with leather cover and brass applications.
Manufactured by Windlass Steelcrafts.
Note that this sword is not a battle-ready weapon. It is designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display and is not suitable for combat reenactment. In addition to collector's quality, it is also perfectly suited as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.
