Katana Bushido Kiku No Gyokuza
Handmade in a small village nestled in the Longquan Mountains in China's Zhejiang province, where the tradition of making swords by hand began over 2000 years ago.
Each piece of this sword is created by experienced forgers using centuries-old methods. The blade is crafted with the "standard welded" system with a Rockwell hardness in the range of 40-45 HRC and about 35 HRC in the guard. The simulated ripple is masterfully applied by a craftsman. Each blade is sharp, and you need to be able to cut a sheet of paper before it leaves the factory.
The tsuba and pommel are adorned with floral motifs. The tsuba has an open-weave design that resembles a flower and symbolizes it. The tsuba, the pommel, and the fuchi-kashira (the necklace next to the tsuba) are made of brass and have an aged finish. The strap is made of genuine lightning bolt leather wrapped with a drawstring.
The wooden scabbard has an attractive deep burgundy finish with glossy black "paint splatters" and an attractive black and burgundy wrapped cord.
