As winter approached and the Viking nights became longer and darker again, it was time to prepare. After long raids in search of food and wealth, the men returned to their villages to spend the winter and spread the story of their triumphs.
Even the Vikings of that era had to wrap up warm enough, as we know it today, to avoid falling victim to the cold.
But what options did they have?
Animal skin, which today is more of a decorative accessory found on the floor, was a very popular feature in medieval times. Especially in winter, furs were probably a warming marvel.But even when the days got longer again and the sun came out more often, furs could still be used, for example, as a seat cushion to make a chair or bench more comfortable.
This shoulder skin is perfect for getting closer to a wild warrior or a brave Viking. Whether at a Viking festival or in a medieval market, with this shoulder leather no cold will get in the way.
As our skins are natural products, small variations in color, length or hair size are completely normal. They are untreated and therefore chemical-free. Due to the adapted shape of the shoulders and neck, there are no folds and the hair does not protrude. So nothing stands in the way of the next big event!

This elaborate leather belt is made of thick, vegetable-tanned (granular) buffalo leather. The surface and edges were polished and given a light-colored finish, giving the leather a distinctive worn appearance.
The belt consists of leather panels joined by means of hand-braided seams. The extra-long straps are riveted in the center of the back and fastened with a knot through rings in the front, like a medieval long belt.

The sword is classified as Type XIV due to its relatively short blade, with a sturdy, wide profile that tapers into a strong, sharp tip. This rigid blade is ideal for both cutting and stowing, while its considerable width makes it easy to lock and move the opponent's blade. While most Type XIV swords have curved guards and wheel knobs, this one features a straight guard (Oakeshott Style 2) and a spherical hilt topped by a protruding block. The added riveted button block has a practical function as it provides greater length to the tenon. This design feature makes it easy to disassemble or further modify the bar, ensuring its longevity and adaptability.
Its most distinctive feature is the brass button in the shape of a faceted sphere, with polyhedral faces. While it doesn't exactly fit a single type of Oakeshott, it is very similar to Type R pommels and is reminiscent of those seen later on basket-handled swords, such as those recovered from the sinking of the Mary Rose.
The sword is even more beautiful because of its details in its design. The combination of the red hilt and scabbard with the yellow brass hilt evokes the image of a high-ranking weapon, fit for a nobleman. This attention to detail extends to the brass cap, where the finial reflects the button, creating a cohesive and elegant design.
