Civil Saber, Left-handed
The cavalry saber reached the height of its popularity during the Napoleonic wars. It was a very effective weapon of war (used by both foot and horse soldiers), but it had a disadvantage - it was too heavy for civilian use.
The solution was to lower the military saber, modify the joint arch and add a folding protection. This modification allowed the civil saber to be used much closer to the body in light belts and buckets. Worn for self-defense or as a sign of authority, it soon became a common military accessory to this day.
Cold Steel's modern interpretation of the classic civil or military saber is hand forged in carbon steel 1055 with a hard spring temperament. It sports a narrow and modestly curved blade that ends at a perversely effective point. It is surprisingly light and agile and able to be surrounded elegantly by the fingers and wrist as the best Small Sword.
With a highly detailed British lion motif on the handle and matching folding guard, as well as a luxurious leather and brass yarn grip, this saber is stylish enough for the more formal occasions and make sure to be the pride of your collection.
