Champagne saber, black handle
The tradition of opening champagne bottles with a saber - called a sabrage - is said to have been first practiced by Napoleon's troops about 200 years ago. On the occasions commemorating their many victories, they opened the bottles of champagne with their briquette sabers. Even today, champagne bottles are opened in this way on ceremonial occasions and receptions.
The blade of the saber is made of stainless steel, the handguard is made of brass, and the hilt is made of wood.
Around the saber in style to be presented, it is delivered in a beautiful wooden box, as well as instructions with tips and information on how to use the saber.
