The original of this medieval chivalrous sword is part of the Royal Armouries Collection (object number IX.2141) and has several special features.
The subtly shaped protection curves toward the blade, funnels slightly and becomes wider again at the tips. The handle is comfortable in the hand and the pommel has a distinct shape due to its angles and edges. The wide blade has a diamond-shaped flattened cross section, is double-edged and has a fuller narrow. It also widens slightly where it finds the cable and ends at a pointed tip.
