This beautiful sword from the Vendel period is inspired by a finely crafted and richly decorated find, excavated from the grave of a ship in a ship cemetery near Uppsala, Sweden. Due to its sumptuous and intricate details, the original archaeological piece is believed to have been the prestigious weapon of the 7th / VIIIth century. Many artifacts attributed to the Vendel era (approximately between the migration period and the Viking era in Swedish history) testify to the high quality of craftsmanship that could be achieved at that time.

This beautiful sword is a replica of a medieval sword that was found in a peat bog in northern Italy. The original, dating from the 13th/14th century, is now in the collection of the Royal Armouries, the British museum of arms and armour in Leeds.
The sword has a broad, double-edged blade with a fuller running along about two-thirds of its length. The cutting edges are not sharp. The blade features a sigil engraved on both sides with the repeated inscription "TOTO", a symbol of loyalty. The wooden handle is wrapped in brown leather, and the slightly curved handle and quillons are made of steel. The so-called rain-guard, which is attached to the cross-guard, acts as a kind of cap over the mouth of the scabbard and offers additional protection when the sword is sheathed.
The sword comes complete with a wooden scabbard and brown leather.
This medieval sword was designed as a collector's piece or decoration/display. In addition to its quality as a collector's item, it is also perfectly suited as a prop, for example, to complete your costume.
