Fourteenth-century Brigandina of Kusnacht - 1

Fourteenth-century Brigandina of Kusnacht

Availability: 2 In Stock

This gorgeous fourteenth-century bandit is directly inspired by the famous Kusnacht bandit found in a castle in Switzerland. He is one of the best-known bandits of the fourteenth century and also one of the most popular of today, both in medieval tournaments and battlefields and in Behourd and jousting.

And there's no doubt why, because the intelligent design of the original that we directly emulated offers an extremely high level of protection and maximum mobility. All the plates overlap, allowing the brigandine to spread any impact on the fighter's torso efficiently, as each plate hit by an impact is actually superimposed on other plates, actually allowing the diffusion of any blow, and allows for incredible mobility at the same time; Even kicking this type of brigandine high is totally possible! You really appreciate the great range of motion that overlapping chest plates allow. Even using a long sword or rod gun will be a real pleasure with this type of equipment

Brigandina was the most common form of protection among commoners and nobles. On a fifteenth-century battlefield you can find all styles of bandits, from the most common archers to the most expensive and luxurious of the high-ranking nobles. A versatile form of protection that offers excellent mobility, a historic brigandine is characterized by its ingenious construction. It consisted of hundreds of small plates under a sturdy tarp or leather cover that gave it an iconic look, with every row of plates appearing elegantly on the exterior. Not only did it look very distinctive, but it was extremely comfortable, precisely because of the excellent mobility it allowed. All these parameters sustained the advantage of being able to be used for many hours, something that all the re-enactors respected and enjoyed for hours on the battlefields and long events. A brigandine was also quite effective in offering excellent protection, forming a perfect balance between having almost no movement impediment and retaining a significant amount of protection. It was usually worn by a private soldier, with chain mail underneath or simply a pair of chainmail sleeves, a kilt and a limited amount of armor (all available separately). Knights and soldiers wore it along with armor for the limbs and the rest of the body. So whether you want to recreate a fifteenth-century infantryman or a twenty-first-century soldier, MAKE SURE OUR BRIGANDINA LEEDS IS THE BEST POSSIBLE CHOICE! Directly inspired by an original found today in the royal arsenals of Leeds, England, you can be sure that it improves your mobility and offers important protection as you fight event after event, battle after battle, reenactment after reenactment.

Gothic Cuirass, Torso Plate Armor, Steel

This elaborately crafted and beautifully detailed reconstruction of a late medieval cuirass is made of 1.2mm steel (18 gauge) and consists of a breastplate and a back plate.
