The sallet is a type of helmet that originated in the late Middle Ages, developing from the kettle hat in the first half of the 15th century. Throughout the century, it gradually replaced the bascinet and became one of the most used helmets in all of Europe. This type of helmet can be found in many different shapes and variations - from simple to elaborately crafted, open or visored, with a more or less pronounced finish. Sallet was especially popular in Italy (celata), Germany (Schaller), France (salade), and England. In the early Renaissance, this medieval helmet eventually evolved into the 16th century. burgonet.

This authentic reconstruction is made of 1.6 mm steel and is modeled after late medieval originals from the 15th century. The helmet has a neck guard and a prominent crest or crest along its apex.
