This historically accurate cap is made of plain cotton fabric. It features a generously large flap and can be tied at the back with bows. The decorative pleats starting at the inner edge of the brim not only create an attractive look but also give structure to the beanie.

In the Middle Ages and early modern period, the headdress or bonnet was a staple headdress for married women, while girls and unmarried women were allowed to keep their hair uncovered (hence the German expression unter die Haube kommen, which literally translates to "to enter under the bonnet" and is still a common idiom nowadays for "to get married"). In addition, caps had the practical advantage of protecting the hair from dirt when performing household chores or other jobs. Alternative ways for women to cover their heads were, for example, a plain or ruffled veil (with or without a gorge around the neck), a barbette and fillet, a schapel (a decorated crown-shaped bow/crown, often worn in combination with a veil), or a headdress. Even today, headdresses and beanies are still an inherent part of many traditional folk costumes throughout Europe.

This beautiful pleated cap for women is ideal for medieval markets, LARP, reenactment or living history.

Carried by Aegon the Conqueror when he left Dragonstone for the Seven Kingdoms, Blackfyre was an ancestral sword of his house that became a symbol of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros.
Aegon I carried it throughout his reign and used it in many battles. After his death, it was passed to his heir and successor, Aenys. However, Aenys gifted her with her younger brother, Maegor, who was the best warrior and best suited for the blade. Many considered this a mistake that legitimized the later usurpation of the throne by Maegor.
The sword continued to be used and carried by the Targaryen kings for generations, in peace and war. Until 182 A.D., when Aegon IV gifted Blackfyre with his bastard son Daemon, instead of his more scholarly rightful heir. Daemon took the name Blackfyre, after his father's blade, and formed House Blackfyre. The waters of the succession became even murkier when Aegon IV legitimized Daemon Blackfyre on his deathbed. The end result was the Blackfyre Rebellion in 196 AD.
The rebellion was unsuccessful and Daemon was killed, riddled with arrows from archers under the command of Lord Brynden Rivers, himself another bastard of Aegon IV who remained loyal to the crown. Daemon Blackfyre's half-brother, Aegor "Bittersteel" Rivers, a bastard who had joined the rebels, took Blackfyre and fled with him across the Narrow Sea to the Free Cities, where the sword was lost to history.

This exclusive and officially licensed Blackfyre sword was created from the fantasy world of author George R.R. Martin's bestselling saga, A Song of Ice and Fire (adapted for HBO's hit TV series, Game of Thrones®).

Each piece of this highly collectible sword has been meticulously designed based on George R.R. Martin's extensive notes and descriptions. All of them have been crafted with great attention to detail and no effort has been spared to achieve the most authentic representation possible of the items described in the source material.

Strictly limited to 2,500 pieces, each sword is serialized and comes with a certificate of authenticity personally autographed by George R.R. Martin and a wall mount for display.
