Early 15th century

Ewart Oakeshott, renowned English sword enthusiast, researcher, and author of crucial books on the sword, described Henry V's sword as "... one of the most beautiful medieval swords I have ever known... It's as balanced as good rod fishing."

This sword is designed to be an impressively splendid weapon: simple, practical, and high-quality. The huge, thick button looks deceptively heavy, but it's actually hollow. The Snitch is decorated with gold and accented with red crosses painted at the time of the king's funeral. The sword hung above King Henry's chapel in Westminster Abbey until it was placed in an old chest. It was found in 1951, cleaned (by Mr. Oakeshot himself!) and added to the display of King Henry's other accessories (his helmet, shield and saddle) in the Abbey museum. The original blade feels a bit narrower due to the multi-sharpening. The original handle is long gone, the current wooden handle is believed to be a difficult replacement. This sword is labeled Type XVIII on the Oakeshott Medieval Sword Records.

When he was a prince, at the age of 16, Henry was almost killed by an arrow that pierced his face. As king, he led a small group of knights and archers to victory over a much larger French force at the Battle of Agincourt, one of the most impressive achievements in English military history.

This sword from Windlass Steelcrafts is an accurate replica of the iconic sword of Henry V. Like the original, it is a relatively short weapon, designed for quick cuts and strokes. The blade is slightly hollow and the edge comes sharpened from the factory. It's beautifully balanced and feels alive in the hand. The handle is hollow like the original and properly decorated in gold, and has red enamel crosses stamped on each side (we used enamel instead of paint for durability reasons). An accurate and fully functional replica of a royal battle sword used by the King of England. A design with the right style for a sense of elegance, but undoubtedly a pragmatic and effective cutting weapon.

Includes premium leather sheath and belt.
