Shadowmourne... A great two-handed axe for giants, forged from sacred and corrupted powers, home to a thousand dead souls, this axe can only be wielded by the most ardent weapon-wielding of Azeroth. Its creation seems almost impossible, but the rumors don't stop.



Some blacksmiths claim that Shadowmourne is nothing more than an ordinary axe sharpened to unparalleled perfection, while others believe that it is a weapon of immense importance to the world. Darion Mograine believes that only the Hammer of Arthas itself offers a worthy model - but such absurd ambition is only the beginning of Shadowmourne's creation. To control the energies that danced on its hard edges, large quantities of impure Saronite, the hardened blood of the Old God Yogg-Saron, were sculpted. To increase his killing power, he must drench the souls of the Scourge's most powerful servants to death one by one with the unfinished blade. To break through the Corpse King's armor, it was decorated with fragments of the frozen throne, originally made by Kil'jaeden from the ice of the Ethereal Spire.
