Natchez Bowie with steel blade SS 4034
"Under-The Hill" was the notoriously turbulent riverside district of Natchez, Mississippi, in the early nineteenth century. So shameful that it was rarely mentioned in the polite living rooms of the pre-war mansions that sprawled across the city. Cold Steel's Natchez Bowie was inspired by the neighborhood's seedy taverns and dimly lit streets "Under-The Hill".
Its long blade is perfectly shaped to offer strength, reach and leverage and its significant weight is perfectly balanced, providing unparalleled vivacity and speed.
The best in materials and workmanship is what makes a performance like this possible. The blade is made of 4034SS steel. It's expensive and difficult to manufacture, but the resulting blade is virtually indestructible. The handle also plays a big role in overall performance. It has a double mileage guard, support and pommel made of highly polished 300 series stainless steel and a beautiful Micarta handle of black linen. This ensures a comfortable and safe grip.
It comes complete with a Secure-Ex® sheath.

This is a reproduction of a long knight's sword from the early 15th century, which is believed to have been found on the River Thames before reaching the collection of the Tower of London. The original hand-and-a-half sword dates from about 1400-1430 and can be seen in the Royal Armouries Collection, Object Number IX.16. This is the kind of sword the English knights carried at the Battle of Agincourt.
The rigid, sharply tapered blade ends in a robust but slender tip. This type of sword was used in one or two hands. In combat, the blade can also be wielded in half a sword, to better direct the tip to the gaps of an armored opponent and also to use the crossguard and the puto to fight and strike.
The blade of this sword has three transitions, from a rich hollow rombudo next to the guard, to a hexagonal cross section and finally to the flattened diamond section point. A relatively agile sword, but with more blade presence than you might expect.

With the increased robustness of plate armor, the sword became less and less effective against a fully armored knight. Hammers, axes, and maces soon became the weapon of choice for mounted knight hand-to-hand combat. The war hammer evolved rapidly and became one of the main weapons. Generally, it was lighter and faster than mace. It was often made a little longer so that the range could be extended, but also shortened if necessary.
This warhammer is expertly replicated from a private collection.

This calf-length tunic is made of sturdy cotton fabric. It has a straight cut and side slits from the waist down. It also features a slightly shorter slit in the center of the front and back.
The tunic or tabard (also surcote, German: Waffenrock or Waffenkleid) emerged in the twelfth century and was worn by knights over their plate armor or chainmail. It was primarily designed to protect its wearer from direct sunlight on the battlefield, and the various color combinations were a decisive means of distinguishing brothers-in-arms from foes in the fray.
Mi-Parti/Miparti refers to the division of one garment into different colors (mostly two). Clothes multicoloredwere quite popular in the Middle Ages. Although such garments were predominantly vertically divided, models with a four-square checkerboard pattern in two colors are also documented. In most cases, the composition of colors had a markedly symbolic character. Examples of coloured tunics can be found, among others, in the Stuttgart Psalter and in the Morgan Chronicles M.804. In general, numerous illustrations testify to the prevalence of knight's tunics or tabards in medieval times, for example, paintings from Morgan's Bible (also known as the Maciejowski Bible or Crusader Bible), a medieval illustrated Bible from the thirteenth century, and miniatures from the Codex Manesse, an illuminated manuscript of songs from the early fourteenth century. A characteristic of the trench coat is its simple and straight cut. For an authentic look, we recommend pairing the tunic with a leather belt. Please note: delivery includes tabard only! This Gugel is made of sturdy canvas and has a very comfortable trim. The head part is wide and has front closure by mooring. It is modeled after high medieval examples.
The most distinctive feature shared by all types of gugels is that they have been tailor-made to cover the head and shoulders. The Vikings were the first proven known to wear this specific type of hood. In the High Middle Ages, it became an integral part of the daily clothing of the commoners and was worn by peasants, craftsmen, travelers and the like. The 14th century brought some changes in the design of the gugel, which became fairer and often adorned with ornate ornaments. But by the early 16th century, it had fallen out of fashion and was rarely used.
