Katana - Sandai Kitetsu This decorative sword was inspired by the Sandai Kitetsu, which pirate hunter Lorenor Zoro (jap. Roronoa Zoro) wields in the anime One-Piece. The Sandai Kitetsu belongs to the sword grade and, therefore, to the 4th place in the sword classification within anime and manga.
It has approx. 67.5 cm long, slightly sharpened blade made of high carbon steel, its tsuka is wrapped in a red band. The unconventional decorative elements of tsuka and saya, such as the cross-shaped tsuba, are made of gold anodized aluminum.
The richly decorated red-coated saya is made of wood and has a red stripe wrapped around the middle. Story behind the sword It was made by Kozuki Sukiyaki, one of the best blacksmiths in Wano, as an imitation of the Nidai Kitetsu (one of the 21 high-quality swords). The term Sandai indicates that the Sandai Kitetsu is the third sword in a series of swords bearing the name Kitetsu.
This katana from the isolated island of Wa no Kuni somehow made its way to the Ipponmatsu arms dealer's shop in Loguetown. Zorro went to this shop to replace his two swords, after they were broken in the fight with Hawk Eyes Mihawk.
He discovered the Sandai Kitetsu in a barrel full of tailings and immediately recognized the high quality of the sword. However, when the shop owner realized that his customer had chosen this particular blade, he forbade him to buy it and then told him about the curse of this katana, which would bring its owner a horrible death. Zoro was intrigued by this concept and decided to test his luck against the curse; He threw the spinning sword into the air and stretched out his arm resolutely, ready to lose it if fate turned against him.
But the blade missed his arm by a hair's breadth, spun around him, and sank three-quarters into the store's wooden floor of weapons. Impressed by this stressful action, Ipponmatsu rushed to the attic of his shop to fetch his family's heirloom, the Yubashiri, which he then gave to the swordsman along with the Kitetsu.
Since then, Kiketsu has served the three-sword-style swordsman well, though he describes him as his troubled son who needs more attention than his other swords. But he proved his worth in his numerous fights against increasingly strong opponents. Please note that this katana is designed as a collector's item or decorative object.
