This Greek military helmet was inspired by a well-preserved bronze discovery accidentally recovered from the Tigris River in Iraq in 1854. The original artifact, dating from the 4th century BC and believed to belong to a knight of the Macedonian army of Alexander the Great, is now on display at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, England.
The Boeotian helmet bears the name of the Greek region of Boeotia (or Boiotia), where it can have its roots. This open-faced helmet, modeled on a wide-brimmed felt hat called petasos, was shaped with a single sheet of bronze. Typical features were the vaulted crown (later conical) and the flap enlarged and tilted down, with projected front section and folds on the sides. This specific shape made the helmet ideal for mounted troops, as it provided adequate protection for the neck, face and side without impairing the sight and hearing of hoplites. Although used primarily by the Greeks and Macedonians during Classical Antiquity and the Hellenistic period, evidence shows that this type of helmet was also used by Roman cavalry in the Republican period.
The Boeotian helmet offered here is a one-piece brass construction (gauge of 1.2 mm / 18). The interior is not lined, but the delivery includes a padded cotton cover that makes this thin helmet fully usable for staging, LARP, theater etc.

You can extend the life of your Viking tent, Roman tent, Saxon tent, Knight's tent, medieval tent, commercial tent or medieval market stall and enjoy its use for a longer time by observing the following precautions:
Setting up the tent is a relatively easy task that can be completed quickly and stress-free thanks to the loop system. The posts can be adjusted in length to suit your needs. When assembling the tent, make sure that the ropes connecting the roof angles and the stakes continuously follow the lines of the tent seams and that the stakes are properly aligned with the bottom corners or loops of the tent. Do not overstretch the ropes , as natural materials such as wood or cotton change under the influence of air humidity and need room to contract and expand. You can prevent, for example, the roof holes for the poles from being distended and ultimately making it easier for water to enter. We recommend loosening the ropes a little at night, as the humidity in the air increases considerably at night and can increase the risk of excessive stress exerted on your tent. The ropes should also be loosened a little in rain or high atmospheric humidity.
When assembling the side wall, it is best to start from the opening side of the tent. As an additional preventive measure against moisture and mold, the walls of the tent should not touch the ground as much as possible (this does not apply to tents with tarpaulin). If the tent has been exposed to moisture, we strongly recommend that you dry it after use, as otherwise it is likely to mold. Wooden poles should never be wrapped in plastic or anything like that. Once the poles are dry, a cotton cloth is perfectly sufficient. Do not, under any circumstances, use detergents or any other cleaning products to clean your tent. The best way to remove dried dirt is to use a brush. As for storing your tent for a long period of time, separate all the accessories (stakes, ropes, etc.) from the tent itself and preferably pack everything separately. Make sure all items are dry and stored in a dry place.
