This wearable reconstruction of a late medieval plate armor for the shoulders is made of 1.2mm steel and blackened on the inside for better corrosion resistance. The jambs (sometimes spelled pouldrons or powldrons) show the typical multi-layered appearance of Gothic plate armor from the late Middle Ages (15th/16th century). The backrests consist of 11 segments - a large main plate for the shoulder, three upper sliding plates or lames and seven lower lames, all connected by sturdy rivets. Each shoulder pad is equipped with an adjustable and sturdy leather strap with a brass buckle, for a comfortable and personalized fit at arm height. The braided cords on the upper and lower edge of the espalier allow for proper attachment to other pieces of plate reinforcement, such as a gorget, a bevor, a breastplate or a gambeson.
This shoulder armor is ideal for late medieval and Renaissance environments.
