This beautiful and elegant sword was used by Napoleon's hussar regiments, light cavalry troops mounted on fast horses, specializing in reconnaissance and skirmishes. Designed to be fast, the curved blade is suitable for cutting, but is thick enough to withstand a rapier attack. Like the original, the spine of the blade bears the following engraving: "Mfture Impale du Klingenthal October 1813" (the first two words are abbreviations for "Imperial Manufacture"). The basket-shaped guard, knob and tang are made of solid brass like the original. Fully sharpened from the factory.

A skunk is almost indispensable for exhibition and free combat. Gambesan, also called gambison, armored doublet, or aketon, was worn underneath plate armor and chainmail in the Middle Ages. It increased the comfort of its steel armor and could also cushion enemy blows, thus reducing the risk of injury.
This gambeson from Ulfberth is made of three layers of fabric: an outer layer of cotton (canvas), a layer of polyester filling/filling and an inner lining of cotton. The padding on the upper body has a diamond shape. The padding is horizontal at the waist and vertical at the hips and arms. The gambeson is closed with leather straps and metal buckles in the central front part. The sleeves are secured with loops and can be removed as desired. The high collar greatly increases the comfort of wearing armor or chainmail around the neck.

A cloak was part of all basic equipment in the Middle Ages and protected ordinary citizens from wind and weather. It was available in a variety of lengths, with and without a hood, and in a variety of cuts. There are several ways to close the cover: fibula, chains, ribbons or later buttons.
Our long-cut cover fastens with a wooden button and a loop. It is made of plain cotton and has a hood.
Please note: The cotton fabric is not water-repellent, but can be treated with a waterproofing spray to keep out light rains.
That way only the cover is sold! The other parts are separated from each other online.

The Roman Gladius is perhaps the most well-known piece of ancient weaponry. It is a simple and long blade, with a double edge and a long tip, making it a Ideal weapon for stabbing or piercing that could defeat the armor of its era.
Cold Steel's® interpretation is not a reproduction of a specific ancient Gladius, but is a collection of the main features of this venerable sword. The blade, for example, has the traditional shape, but, unlike the old version, it is made of high-carbon steel with spring tempering. It is fully sharpened on both edges and has a fine mirror polish. The tip is long but sturdy enough to resist bending or breaking. It also has a rosewood handle, carved and decorated in a classic style.
The wooden scabbard is covered in black leather and accented with a throat, cape and carry rings made of solid brass.
