The cross and the pommel of the sword bear a vulgar Latin inscription meaning: "Custody by a dragon that does not sleep, in the name of truth."

The sword was usually the weapon of choice of medieval knights for combat. Its owners liked to customize it - some even received names - and was considered both a weapon and a symbol - the blade and cable are cross-shaped.

The most common sword was the so-called bastard sword or "hand and middle", straight and with double edge, whose length ranged between 100 and 120 cm, and weighed between 1200 and 2000 grams, which allowed agile handling on the battlefield.
