Brigandina was the most common form of protection among commoners and nobles. On a fifteenth-century battlefield you can find all styles of bandits, from the most common archers to the most expensive and luxurious of the high-ranking nobles. A versatile form of protection that offers excellent mobility, a historic brigandine is characterized by its ingenious construction. It consisted of hundreds of small plates under a sturdy tarp or leather cover that gave it an iconic look, with every row of plates appearing elegantly on the exterior. Not only did it look very distinctive, but it was extremely comfortable, precisely because of the excellent mobility it allowed. All these parameters sustained the advantage of being able to be used for many hours, something that all the re-enactors respected and enjoyed for hours on the battlefields and long events. A brigandine was also quite effective in offering excellent protection, forming a perfect balance between having almost no movement impediment and retaining a significant amount of protection. It was usually worn by a private soldier, with chain mail underneath or simply a pair of chainmail sleeves, a kilt and a limited amount of armor (all available separately). Knights and soldiers wore it along with armor for the limbs and the rest of the body. Our reproduction is based directly on an original helmet found in a 10th-century Slavic-Varangian settlement called Gnezdovo or Gnyozdovo near Smolensk in modern Russia. Many typical Scandinavian artifacts have been found at the same time as this helmet, making it a good choice for anyone wishing to re-enact an Oriental Viking/Varangian/Russ/Slav character. On the other hand, such a helmet would seem much less appropriate if you were depicting a Viking from the west invain england, for example.

This gorgeous Gnezdovo helmet is handmade 16 gauge soft steel (14G available upon request), lined with a comfortable and secure leather lining and a sturdy riveted aventail mail. A circumference of approx. 68 cm makes almost all head sizes fit. And a sturdy closed chin strap with a beautiful buckle will help keep your helmet in place during all your battles.

Alois is a cheeky and selfish boy who would do anything to achieve his own goals. However, his reactions are difficult to predict because he usually reacts unexpectedly. Alois usually only shows his feelings to Claude and always wants to be the center of attention. He often wants to dance with Claude, or lets out a loud olé to get the attention he wants. He is the opposite of Ciel, not only in character but also in appearance.

Care tips for wigs

Since the fine fibers of wigs are vulnerable, we wanted to provide some tips that should help maintain the longevity and beauty of your wig.

1. It is best to store the wig in a stand (or Styrofoam head, etc.) and not in direct sunlight. (If a wig is left in the sun continuously for days or weeks, it will discolor.)
2. Take good care of your wig. There are several wig shampoos and conditioners that can be ordered online that help to preserve the fullness and shine of a wig.
3. Use as little hairspray and hairspray as possible, as these products leave a permanent film on wigs that makes them shine slightly whitish.
4. Do not let your wig be compressed in a container for too long, as it will become deformed and eventually it will be very difficult to return to its original condition. It is always best to leave the wig in the holder.
