The so-called Intercisa helmets belong to a group of Roman helmets found in the fort of Intercisa, located in present-day Hungary. A total of about 15 to 20 fragments of late Roman iron helmets were found at the site, four of which could be reconstructed. These helmets, classified as Intercisa I-IV, date from the late 3rd or early 4th centuries and all share two distinct features. Firstly, the skull is made up of two segments joined by a central crest or crest. Second, there is no base ring, which was common in helmets of the same period, such as the Berkasovo type (also known as the late Roman ridge helmet).
This detailed reconstruction of the Intercisa I is made of 1.2 mm steel and features all the typical features of this type of helmet. Particularly striking are the eye motifs in the forehead section, which sit above the wearer's actual eyes and face directly forward. The ear holes, typical of this Roman helmet, are formed by special cutouts both in the bowl of the helmet and in the cheek protectors. The neck and cheek protectors are riveted securely to the helmet with sturdy leather straps. All edges are reinforced with a leather finish and an adjustable, riveted leather lining ensures a customizable fit and optimal comfort.
Suitable for re-enactment, LARP, stage or film/TV, this fully wearable helmet is best suited for late Roman environments and is ideal for completing the armour of a Roman legionnaire. Of course, it will also be a great addition to any helmet collector's treasure chamber.

The steel used here is not rust-proof and may have slight surface stains in places. We recommend that you regularly maintain helmets (and armor) in general, for example by using Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideal for steel care.
