Sword Deschaux Rapier

The floret first appeared around 1500 and remained the sword of choice of the European nobility and bourgeoisie until the end of the 17th century. Conceived primarily as a push ing weapon (but still quite efficient in cutting and cutting), this renaissance one-hand sword, usually double-edged, with long, thin blade and sharp tip, was predominantly used by noblenobles for military and civilian purposes.

The swept-fist tweezers appeared in Europe around the beginning of the 17th century. It was the time of the Renaissance when foil fencing was considered an essential part of the education of nobles and was often used in resolving conflicts between them.

This Rapier is hand-forged from high-carbon steel, ground and polished well. It is close to the contemporary originals in weight, size and finish. The wooden handle is wrapped in steel wire and the elaborate guard is an all-steel construction. The spring steel blade is not sharp.

Delivery includes a matching leather sheath with steel fittings.

The rope motif on the pieces dates back to the times of rigging, marauding ships, and adventure.
